How many pictures can
I submit to Photos-Expo?
You can submit as many photographies
as you want, there are no restrictions. If your
photography is not selected, do not hesitate
to submit others. The advice is to submit photos
that you would hang on your wall !
What
are the Photos-Expo selection criterias?
There are not real selection
criterias. The selection being very subjective,
it depends of the jury. Generally, aphoto is
selected for its beauty, for the emotion it
stirs when we contemplate it. It should be a
photo ones would like to expose on its wall.
The composition and originality of the photo
are key elements that are part of the personnality
conveyed by the photo.
What
is the selection lead time for the submitted
photos?
The selection should not
take more than 5 days, except for exceptional
circumstances mentioned to you during your submission.
You will be notified by email of the deliberation.
Do
we have to pay in order to have our gallery
online?
In order to have you photo
gallery online, you just need to have your photos
selected . The photo submission is free, and
it is possible to submit as much photos as you
want.
Is
the photographer remunerated for his online
photos?
When the photographer submits
his photos online, he/she authorises Photos-Expo
to expose his/her photographic work for a minimum
lenght of 12 months. The fact that the photo
is selected and then put online does not imply
a remuneration. Only the sale of each photography
authorised by the photographer will be remunerated
of a commission.
What
is the remuneration of the photographer for
the sale of his photography?
The photographer perceives 50% of the tax free
amount of the sale (tax of 19.6%). The 50 other
percents allow Expo-Photos to finance the reproduction
costs, maintenance of the website, and the other
costs inherent to e-commerces, packaging, and
of course the Photos-Expo mark up for Photos-Expo
to survive(10% to 30% final mark up according
to the size of the print sold).
How
to receive the commissions?
When you submit your photos,
you have to create your member account first.
It automatically creates your personal account
from which you will be able to follow your sales
statistics and decide when the payment of your
commissions, by transfer or cheque (French cheque),
shall be done.
Can
I define the selling price of my photography?
Yes , you have the
power to decide of the selling price of your
work. There is although a minimum price according
to the size of the reproduction. But there are
no ceiling price, but the main aim of Photos-Expo
is to make Art accessible to everyone. Price
should not be an obstacle.
The minimum price is determined
according to the fixed costs inherent to reproduction
costs.

Can
I limitate the number of reproductions of my
photography ?
Yes, you can define the
total quantity of authorised original prints
(worldwide). Then you have to define how many
of those total original prints you allow Photos-Expo
to sell. The photographies are numbered and
the sales will not go beyond the quantity fixed.
Can I choose from
which number my reproductions will be numbered
?
Yes, you can choose the number from which the
reproductions of your photography will be numbered.
Therefore you can reserve for yourself certain
copies.
What is the
difference between the total original print
quantity and the total original prints authorised
for Photos-Expo ?
By selling on Photos-Expo, you will have to
decide of the total original prints quantity
you will authorise (worldwide) then among this
total quantity of original prints, you will
have to indicate to Photos-Expo how many original
prints you will allow us to sell on that website.
For instance, you can decide that your photo
will be only sold at a limited edition of 20
prints in the world, and among those 20 prints,
you will only authorise Photos-Expo to sell
10 of them.
What
are the minimum resolution in order to submit
a photography?
The photos submitted must
have a minimum size of 960x720 pixels. Knowing
that once the photo is selected, you will have
to provide us with an original of your photography
in a high resolution format in order to reproduce
and enlarge it in an optimal quality format.
The minimum resolution of this original should
be a 300dpi picture, 1280x1020 pixels in a digital
format or a negative.
What
are the minimum formats in order to reproduce
and enlarge a photography?
Digital photographies:
The minimum resolution would be a 300dpi photo,
size 1280x1020.
Film:
If your photo is selected, the ideal would be
to have a negative of your photo.
If you do not possess a negative or a scan of
your photo, you can send us a 10x15 print of
your photo.
Can
I terminate the Photos-Expo publication and
reproduction contract?
By submitting your photos
to our website, you accept the publication of
your photos on our site for a period of 12 months.
Beyond those 12 months, you can email info@expo-photos.com
to retrieve your photo from the gallery.
How
do I number the photographies that I sell apart
from the Photos-Expo website?
In that precise case, you have to number from
the last number you have conceded to Photos-Expo.
For instance, you have authorised the sale of
20 photos by Photos-Expo, and you did authorise
the numbering from number 1. If you happen to
sell prints by yourself, you will have to continue
the numbering from number 21.
Unless you did plan to begin your numbering
from a certain number, in that case you can
use the numbers you reserved.
For instance, you authorised the reproduction
of 20 photos to Photos-Expo, but you only authorised
a numbering from number 10. Therefore, if you
sell photos not via the Photos-Expo website,
you can number your photo from 1 to 9 or from
30.
Where do we send
negatives or authenticity certificates?
Everything that is digital can be sent to us
online, but when it comes to documents you can
only send to us by snail mail should be sent

When my photos
are selected and that I have to provide details
of my photo, do I have to fill in the French
part ?
Photos-Expo is a bilingual website in French
and English. Your photos are viewed by a French
audience. It is of course better for you to
fill in the French descriptions if you are comfortable
with that language. If not you can leave the
field blank. It is possible that the Photos-Expo
staff translates your notes in French according
to their amount of work.
